The truth is… the secret to feeling better is actually acknowledging and feeling your negative emotions… NOT avoiding them.

And a quick and effective way to do this is with a method called Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as Meridian Tapping. It essentially works like a type of exposure therapy that helps you feel empowered over any negative thought, emotion, or memory you might be experiencing.

What is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)?

Here’s How EFT Works:

1. Think of a current challenge or problem in your life

Think of something you currently would like to change or fix in your life. If it brings up a negative emotion for you, that is what we’re looking for!

2. Tap on acupressure points while focusing on this challenge

Pressing acupressure points on your body releases serotonin, endorphins, and other feel-good chemicals to help you feel safe as you are experiencing the negative emotion in your body.

3. Release the blocked energy from your body

Continue and repeat the process until you do not feel emotionally triggered by the same memory, experience, or thought.

When you no longer feel disturbed or bothered by your negative thoughts, emotions, or memories, that is where your true power comes from. And this can all be achieved with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

EFT is for You if…

EFT is a research-driven modality that can be helpful for you if you are currently facing emotional challenges that are negatively impacting your habits, work, health, or relationships. EFT is especially helpful if you are consistently feeling emotions such as:

  • Anxiety

  • Sadness

  • Depression

  • Grief

  • Anger/Frustration

  • Stress

  • Overwhelm

EFT is NOT for You if…

EFT is NOT for you, however, if you are:

  • Diagnosed with a severe mental illness that requires supervision from a mental health provider and currently prevents you from being able to perform the EFT process (e.g. bipolar disorder type 2 in a manic state, schizophrenia, etc.)

  • Experiencing a new onset of physical pain that has not yet been diagnosed by a medical doctor

  • Needing to resolve issues of abuse, such as child abuse and sexual abuse
