On a mission to change the way we approach mental health
I was a Psychiatric Nurse at one of the leading hospitals in the world… and yet, I felt off.
I became a psychiatric nurse because I wanted to help people successfully cope with their stress, depression, and anxiety.
But it took me 8 years as a nurse to realize that the antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotics we were giving them were not significantly helping the patients gain symptomatic relief from their conditions.

When medications aren’t enough
Sometimes, in fact, the medications were causing more harmful side effects than positive benefits (such as extrapyramidal symptoms, weight gain, and metabolic syndrome, to name a few), and patients were constantly being re-admitted to the hospital with no change in their illness.
Then, in 2020, a patient asked me if I could show them a Tai Chi video on YouTube so he could calm down. I never did Tai Chi before, so I brought a computer into the room, played a Tai Chi YouTube video, and practiced the movements with the patient. Immediately, me and the patient felt calm after doing only a few Tai Chi movements together.
Join me on the journey to holistic mental health
Shortly after I watched the Tai Chi video with my patient, I left my job as a nurse to go on a mission. I was determined to find modalities and ways to help people heal from emotional stress, anxiety, depression, and more simply by using their body’s natural healing capabilities.
It was not too long after that I found Qigong. Qigong, sharing the same roots in China as Tai Chi, is a mindful moving practice that combines meditation, intention, and breathing techniques to help optimize one’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
After using Qigong and meditation to help heal my own bouts of anxiety, grief, and stress, I began teaching others to do the same. I’m on a mission to help people heal holistically from stress, anxiety, depression, and more. Join me!
